PSG after a crushing victory in the first game (4: 1) drew with Barcelona in the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League and advanced to the next round of the tournament. The meeting at the Parc des Princes ended with a score of 1: 1.
“Barcelona” entered the game better than the Parisians, and could well have gone on hiatus, scoring a few goals. However, Ousmane Dembele did not convert his chances, and Serginho Desta's shot to the crossbar was repelled by Keylor Navas.
PSG punished guests for extravagance in the 31st minute. Mauro Icardi earned a penalty, and Kilian Mbappe confidently converted it.
Catalans bounced back in the 37th minute. Lionel Messi shot into the top nine of the PSG goal from a long distance.
Before leaving for the break, Barcelona could have scored the second goal, but Messi missed the penalty - his kick from the 11-meter mark was pulled by Keylor Navas.
The second half also started better than Barcelona. In the 61st minute, Messi again missed the chance to bring the Catalans forward. Jordi Alba gave the ball to the Argentinean into the center of the penalty area, but his kick was blocked at the last moment.
The guests continued to act as the first number and had some more good potential moments, but they did not work out with the implementation that evening..
The hosts, after the break, rarely got ahead, but they could well snatch victory in the end, but Mbappe did not realize a one-on-one exit with Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The draw for the Champions League quarterfinals and semi-finals will take place on 19 March.
Quarter-final games are scheduled for April 6-7 and 13-14.
The final match of the tournament will take place on May 29 in Istanbul (Turkey).
