The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina in the 1/8 finals of the WTA tournament in Rome beat the Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova and advanced to the next stage.
Ukrainian tennis player dealt with her rival in two sets. The match lasted 1 hour 56 minutes and ended in victory for Svitolina with a score of 7: 6 (6), 6: 4. Note that in the previous round of the tournament in Rome, Svitolina dealt with another representative of Russia Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
In the quarterfinals Elina will meet the winner of the pair Polona Herzog (Slovenia) - Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic).
For Elina, this is the first official tournament after the resumption of the tennis season.. She became the winner of the competitions in the capital of Italy in 2017 and 2018.
