The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina successfully started her performance at the tournament in Rome. In the second round of the competition Elina defeated Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The meeting lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes. Svitolina dealt with her rival in two sets, snatching a victory in the second game in a tie-break. The final score of the match - 6: 3, 7: 6 (7: 4) in favor of the Ukrainian tennis player.
For Elina, this is the first official tournament after the resumption of the tennis season.. She became the winner of competitions in the capital of Italy in 2017 and 2018.
In the 1/8 finals Elina will face the winner of the pair Anette Kontaveit (Estonia) - Svetlana Kuznetsova (Russia).
Earlier in the 1/8 finals of the Rome tournament, the second racket of Ukraine, Dayana Yastremska, also made her way, who won a strong-willed victory over Amanda Anisimova.
