Barcelona have confidently dealt with Napoli on their way to the Champions League quarter-finals

Barcelona beat Napoli in the Champions League round of 16 return leg. The fight took place on August 8 at the Camp Nou stadium in Spain and ended with a score of 3: 1.

The Catalans reached the quarterfinals of the tournament, defeating the opponent 4: 2 on aggregate. The first meeting of the teams in February ended in a 1: 1 draw.

At the start of the match, “Napoli” had a great chance to open the score, but the barbell took over the kick of Dries Mertens. In the 10th minute, Barcelona punished the guests for not realizing the moment - defender Clement Lenglet won the fight on the second floor after a corner kick and sent the ball into the goal - 1: 0.

In the 23rd minute, " Lionel Messi single-handedly dealt with the opponent's defense, after which he sent the ball into the far corner in the fall - 2: 0.

Kike Setien's wards sent the ball into the goal of the “parthenopeans” for the third time in the 30th minute, but this goal was canceled. The referee made a very controversial decision, fixing the handball at Messi, who shot the goal of David Ospina.

“Barcelona” did not get upset for a long time and after ten minutes they scored a goal that was set off. Messi sneaked up on Coulibaly while he knocked the ball out of his own box, and was hit on the leg by a Senegalese. Chief arbiter Cuneyt Chakyr, after consulting with assistants, went to watch the replay to the VAR monitor and assigned a penalty.

From the 11-meter mark, Luis Suarez threw the ball and Ospina in different corners and made the score crushing - 3: 0.

True, even before the break, the Neapolitans played one goal. In stoppage time, Rakitic knocked down Mertens in his own penalty area, and Insigne confidently beat Ter Stegen - 3: 1.

In the second half, “Barcelona” convincingly kept the ball, and “Napoli” were deprived of chances to score.

Arkadiusz Milik got a lone chance after coming on as a substitute - in the 81st minute the Pole sent the ball into the net with his head after a serve from the flank, but the goal was not scored due to an obvious offside position.

Barcelona will play their quarterfinals on Friday 14 August against Bayern Munich, who beat Chelsea in a parallel match.

The 1/4 finals will be held in a one-match format in Lisbon.
