The deal to sell Newcastle to Saudi investors led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is in serious jeopardy.

According to The Guardian, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has claims against Saudi Arabia because of its ties to pirated broadcasts of sporting events, including Premier League matches.

In mid-June, the WTO is due to publish a detailed 130-page report, but the organization has already established that there is a direct link between Saudi Arabia and beoutQ.

Previously, FIFA, UEFA, the Premier League, La Liga and other sports organizations have repeatedly tried to make claims to beoutQ about access to pirated broadcasts, but each time the Saudi brakes down.

Sports organizations appealed to local law firms, but each of them refused to represent the interests of the legal owner of copyright in court. The escalation of the conflict led to the fact that the WTO was forced to intervene in the matter.

The WTO verdict means that the Saudi authorities actually covered beoutQ, causing significant harm to the Premier League and other sports organizations, and now this may be a formal reason to block the sale of “Newcastle”.

It was previously reported that the Premier League approved the sale of Newcastle to the Saudis.

Interestingly, the future owners of “Newcastle” plan to invite Mauricio Pochettino to the post of head coach and are ready to pay him a space salary.
