European Football Union (UEFA) has disapproved of the decision to prematurely end the 2019/20 season in the Belgian Championship.

After the decision of the Belgians became known, UEFA sent a letter to its associations urging them to wait and play the season in the summer, writes Marca.

It is noted that in the letter the organization writes about confidence in the possibility of resuming the season in the coming months, subject to approval by the authorities of the states.

Recall, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection, European football leagues are suspended at least until April 30, except for the Major League of Belarus.

On April 1, UEFA held a video meeting with the secretaries general of associations and set a deadline for the end of the current season - until August 3.

UEFA urged to finish the season. It is believed that for the sake of this, June and July were freed from Euro matches: earlier UEFA moved Euro 2020 to the summer of 2021, as well as playoff matches, friendly matches of the national teams, the Champions League and the Europa League.
