Swiss Prosecutor General's Office charges bribery against former FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valke, PSG President Nasser Al-Helaifi and an unnamed sports businessman.

Valke is accused of taking bribes, falsifying documents and committing aggravated abuse. Al-Helaifi and the third person suspected of inciting Walck to misconduct.

It is noted that Valke received advantages in the distribution of media rights to the World Cup. Al-Khelaifi purchased a villa through his company and transferred to Valka the exclusive right to use real estate, and from the third accused, the former FIFA secretary general received three tranches of approximately 1.25 million euros.

Al-Helaifi owned by beIN Media Group.

Valke has served as FIFA Secretary General since 2007 and was suspended in September 2015..

In February 2018, the FIFA Ethics Committee suspended him from any football activity for 12 years, but later the appeal committee reduced this period to 10 years.

Valke later appealed this decision to the Lausanne Sports Arbitration Court (CAS). In July 2018, CAS dismissed the appeal.

Earlier, Al-Helaifi was accused of “wanting” to buy Qatar the World Athletics Championship in 2017, but the tournament was given to London. But Qatar did receive the World Cup - in 2019.
