The Premier League recommended the judges use VAR monitors near the field edge to make decisions on red cards.

It is reported by Sky Sports.

Earlier, unlike foreign colleagues, English judges in about 220 Premier League meetings did not personally resort to the help of monitors, but relied on the decision of VAR assistants who were sitting in a special room outside the field.

At the beginning of the year, Judge Michael Oliver became the first referee to use a monitor near the field..

It happened in the Crystal Cup match - Crystal Derby (0: 1). After watching the episode, Oliver removed the host player Luka Milivojevic.

This season is the first when VAR is used in the Premier League. The referee video assistance system is also involved in individual FA Cup matches held at the stadiums of teams of the top division.

Earlier it was reported that VAR will work in the butt matches of the Euro 2020 selection and the qualification of the World Cup 2022.
