Bulgaria's national team punished with a match without spectators for racism in the selection for Euro 2020

The Bulgarian team will hold a match of the qualification tournament Euro 2020 against the Czech Republic with empty stands.

Thus, UEFA punished the team for manifestations of racism and other violations during the match of the 8th round with the national team of England (0: 6).

In addition, the home stadium of the national team was suspended for another match with a two-year trial period.



The Bulgarian Football Federation is fined 85 thousand euros, and the banner “No to racism” will be placed on the next two matches of the team.

During the game with England, the chief referee stopped the duel twice due to racist insults from the Bulgarian fans against the black players of the Three Lions team - Rakhim Sterling and Tyrone Mings.

After the match, a scandal erupted, the head of the Bulgarian Football Federation was fired.
