The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina won the WTA Finals in Singapore, becoming the first Ukrainian to submit to this achievement.
In the final match Elina defeated American Sloan Stevens in three sets - 3: 6, 6: 2, 6: 2.
On the way to the decisive confrontation, Elina in the group stage overcame two Czechs - Petru Kvitova and Caroline Pliszkova, as well as Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark. And in the semifinals of the Final tournament Svitolin was stronger than the Netherlands Kiki Bertens.
In addition, after the victory over Stevens, Ukraine will rise in 4th place in the world ranking. Having collected 5350 points, Elina will add two positions, ahead of Stevens and Naomi Osaka (Japan).
