It is known that the sedentary way of life causes serious damage to health. According to doctors, this is the fourth most common cause of death in the world from noncommunicable diseases. Experts from the University of Utah School of Medicine and the University of Colorado came to the conclusion that a two-minute activity hourly could change the situation for the better, writes Meddaily.

Official WHO recommendations say that physical activity should be at least 30 minutes a day. Researchers believe that the method of "2 minutes per hour" allows you to approach this indicator.

Scientists for three years watched 3243 volunteers who carried accelerometers.

Specialists found out that if a person just stood these two minutes, then there was no difference. But a quick walk, pleasant efforts in the garden or cleaning reduced the risk of death by 33%.

Ideally, to the described activity, you need to add 2.5 hours per week of moderate intensity training. Experts recalled that every hour spent on a chair takes away from a person 22 minutes of life. But every hour of physical exercise adds 90 minutes of life. This is logical, since the human body was created in order to be active.
