Ukrainian tennis player Lesia Tsurenko reached the quarterfinal US Open-2018.
In the match of the fourth round, the Kyivan won a strong-willed victory over Marketa Vondroushova from Czech Republic - 6: 7 (3), 7: 5, 6: 2. The match lasted 2 hours 32 minutes.
Interestingly, Tsurenko for the first time in his career will play in the quarter finals of the Grand Slam series.
Lesya became the third Ukrainian (after Catherine Bondarenko (2009 - US Open) and Elina Svitolina (2015, 2017 - Roland Garros, 2018 - AUS open), which managed to reach the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament and the second representative of our country (after Bondarenko), which will play in the quarterfinal US Open.
At the end of the tournament, Tsurenko will rise at least 26th in the WTA ranking, setting a new personal best.
The next rival of the Ukrainian woman will be Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka (20).
Let's remind, Elina Svitolina has taken off from the fourth circle.
