Legendary football player David Beckham will receive an award from UEFA.

European football organization noted the former player for his services in football.

The corresponding prize Beckham will receive from the hands of UEFA President Alexander Cheferin August 30, 2018. Here, as Beckham himself commented on the possibility of receiving this award.

"To receive the award of the president of UEFA is a great honor for me. During my career, I always put 100% and tried to stick to the principles of team spirit and "fair play".

I am glad that I join the bright cohort of players who received this award earlier. Many of the unforgettable moments of my career fell on the Champions League matches, including a magical evening in Barcelona in 1999, when we in a dramatic style took over Bayern, "said Beckham.

Note that Beckham is the first English player to have played 100 matches in the Champions League.

In total, he played in his many years of career 762 meetings, in which he managed to excel 130 goals scored.
