We have another medal at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin. Sergei Nikiforov won the bronze award in long jump.
The Ukrainian showed a score of 8.13, the same as that of the German Fabian Heinle, but the latter had the best result on the second jump. Greek won the Greek Miltiadis Tentoglu - 8.25.
For Ukraine this is the third medal in Berlin. Prior to this "gold" Marjan Zakalnitsky won in walking (50 m) and in the same discipline Alina Tsvili took "silver".
The combined European Championship is held in Glasgow and Berlin, and includes the continental championship in track and field athletics, water sports, gymnastics, cycling, rowing, triathlon and golf.
Ukraine has 21 medals and is on the 7th team place.
