Scientists said that sports should be dealt with on weekends.

Researchers at the University of Loughborough (UK) and the University of Sydney (Australia) concluded that even small physical activity reduces the likelihood of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

They conducted a large-scale study, in which 64 thousand volunteers aged 40 years. The maximum age of study participants was 65 years.

It turned out that even 150 minutes of sport per week positively affects human health. Physical exercises on weekends reduce the risk of oncological diseases by 18%, cardiovascular diseases - by 41%. If a person trains days of the day a week, these figures are 21% and 41%. With minimal physical activity, the risks of developing cancer and cardiovascular diseases were reduced by 14% and 37%, respectively.



Taking into account such indicators, experts note, it can be concluded that for health purposes, purposeful exercise, rather than quantity, is of great importance, since even a full-fledged training per week has almost the same positive effect as three training sessions.

The authors of the study note that after 40 years, one should still find at least a few hours on one of the days off to do sports. This will maintain physical fitness and reduce the likelihood of developing dangerous diseases.
