Absolute world champion in the first heavyweight champion Alexander Usik is not going to change his citizenship to Russian, even if from Moscow comes such a proposal.

He stated this on the air of the TV channel "112 Ukraine".

"I have never been asked to change citizenship. If they even offered me - I'm Ukrainian, why should I change citizenship? I have a country, I have a passport, a house, I have everything, "- said the boxer.

Usik also noted that he easily travels around the world with his Ukrainian passport.

"I do not need a lot of passports, I can travel with this everywhere, and I do it. Let the whole world offer me citizenship - I will go everywhere and everything. I do not need any other citizenship other than mine, "he said..

Earlier, State Duma deputy and president of the Curling Federation Dmitry Svishchev said that Russia was waiting for Alexander Usik to apply for Russian citizenship because "he was born in Crimea, in Simferopol, and Crimea is part of Russia".
