For the German reporter Andreas Ruttenauer was the discovery that the Russians, it turns out, are also "people". He came to this conclusion after visiting the World Cup, which was held recently in 11 cities of Russia. Our compatriots were able to surprise Ruttenauer - before he did not consider them fun and friendly. His impressions of the trip to the world journalist shared in the newspaper Tageszeitung. He wrote that in the trains Russians fed him, drank tea with him and talked, although they did not know any foreign languages. The journalist also noted that the Russians were very friendly to the fans who came to them from different parts of the world: Colombians, Mexicans, Icelanders and many others. The World Cup has become a real holiday for both city residents and football fans, Ruutenauer acknowledged. He added that many foreigners represented Russia much more Soviet than it was. Separately, the German has allocated a good quality of mobile communications and Wi-Fi. There was also a fly in the ointment: the journalist believes that the Russians became people only for the four weeks that the tournament was going on, the "360".

It should be recognized that the image of Russia, which is often created in foreign media, is far from the reality seen by the fans who arrived at the World Cup 2018. Now they place outraged posts on the web and say that in Russia everything is completely different. For example, a British fan told Twitter that there were no riots, hooligan attacks, ill-treatment by the police, bribes, unfinished stadiums, racism, bad food and unfriendly people in 33 days that he spent in Russia, and in the end he advised the British media "deal with your shit".
