Teaching patients with yoga and meditation is an effective way to reduce the number of visits to a doctor. To such a conclusion came the scientists of the Benson-Henry Institute in Massachusetts.

Analyzing the condition of more than 4,400 patients who practiced yoga and meditation during the year, the specialists found that, in comparison with the last year, the number of calls to the doctor decreased by 43%. In another group of patients of 13,000 people, the number of requests for medical assistance remained the same.

James Stahl, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Evaluation Technology, said that the good state of health caused by yoga practice reduces the need to consult a doctor.
