In the swim participated more than 800 people from 38 countries of the world. They competed at three distances - 1.3 km, 4.5 km, 14 km.

"I went for 4.5 km. And it was the longest swim in my life, - says Anastasia Daugule. - When registered, this theoretical figure of 4.5 km in the questionnaire seemed to me quite acceptable. But ... when I came to the lake and saw the distance in reality, it became scary. It was too late to retreat. I went to the start, they say, with wide eyes closed. ".

Open water competitions are always very dangerous. Therefore, in the starting package, in addition to electronic chips, swimmers were given a signal buoy and a whistle to call for rescuers. After all, water absorbs sounds and, if necessary, to the lifeboat does not scream.
