Singer Robbie Williams, who will open the FIFA World Cup, was criticized in England.

Stephen Doughty, a member of the British Parliament for Internal Affairs who investigates suspicious deaths of Russians in the country, said he was "surprised and disappointed" by Williams.

"While Russian fighters are bombing Syrian civilians, and the government is harassing people on the streets of Britain and persecuting LGBT people - both in Chechnya and elsewhere, not to mention attempts to destroy our democracy, I can only assume that Robbie will raise all these topics during his speech, "- quotes Douty The Telegraph.

The opening ceremony of the 2018 World Cup will be held on June 14 at 17:30.

Recall that in 2016, Williams ridiculed the Russian oligarchs in his video.
