While the fate of the finals of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) is being decided, in which Alexander Usik and Murat Gassiev will meet, one more Ukrainian will compete for the world champion belt in weight of Usik.
On June 2, Roman Golovashchenko from Vinnitsa will enter the ring in Baku. He will fight for the full belt of the heavyweight champion of the world according to IBO.
His rival will be Kevin Lerena prospect from South Africa.
Let's note, now Roman lives and trains in Germany and owns belts of the intercontinental champion on this boxing version and champion WBC-A.
Recall, the fate of the championship battle between Usik and Gassiev as previously unknown. The fight was originally scheduled for May 11 in Saudi Arabia, but the meeting had to be canceled because of a Ukrainian trauma. On May 24, 2018, the parties held a meeting at which they failed to agree on the place and date of the battle.
