The former head of UEFA Michel Platini is acquitted in the corruption case.

The Swiss prosecutor's office dismissed him for lack of evidence, writes Le Monde.

"I hope that FIFA has a conscience to show decency and remove from me the disqualification. Otherwise, my advisors will take the necessary measures to remove the suspension, "- said Platini.

In 2015, the 62-year-old Frenchman was suspended from football activities for 8 years. Later the term was reduced to 4 years.

Platini was suspected of corrupt schemes - in 2011 he received a payment of 1.8 million euros from the then FIFA president Joseph Blatter for allegedly done work.

In September 2016, Platini officially left the post of President of UEFA, the new became Alexander Cheferin.
