Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon announced his resignation from Juventus after 17 years of performances for the club.

Buffon played for the Turin club since 2001. On his account 655 matches for the team with which he won 9 times in Serie A and 4 times - the Cup of Italy, but never won in the Champions League.

Also Buffon is the record holder in the number of victories in the championship of Italy.

He owns the longest dry series in the championship, in the season-2015/16 the goalkeeper did not miss balls for 974 minutes. In 2003, he was recognized as the football player of the year by the version of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), and in 2017 - the footballer of the year in Italy. He was three times recognized as the best goalkeeper of the Champions League and 12 times - Italy.
