The name of the head coach is still kept secret, which will be opened only in May. However, one thing is known for certain - the Ukrainian biathlon team will be headed by a Russian coach.
This was told by the athlete Elena Pidgrushnaya, noting that the specialist will be the company's two assistants. "Most likely, in the next season with the women's team will work just three specialists. The coach will be a Russian, "- said the athlete, calling the future mentor a foreigner. According to her, it was necessary to invite a specialist from the Russian Federation after an unsuccessful experience of cooperation with a Western trainer. It turned out that Ukrainians are much closer to the language and mentality of Russians, and not representatives from Europe.
Particularly clearly the difference manifested itself in the women's team. "Because to preserve the team, we are considering options with coaches from the Slavic states," concluded Pidgrushnaya.
In addition, the Ukrainian biathlete commented on the temporary refusal to participate in competitions on Russian soil, which was heard in Ukraine on March 13. "Do not say that I'm glad that we did not go to Russia. On the one hand, it means not to go to the territory of the aggressor, but that we helped Russia. We lost the quota, and they got ", - quotes the sportswoman Sportarena. By the way, in April the boycott was lifted. Ukrainian athletes are allowed to perform in Russia, but, at its own expense.
