Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Alexander Emelianenko signed a contract with RCC Boxing Promotion for four fights. The first fight will take place in the KRK "Uralets" on May 5 with the Brazilian Gabriela Gonzaga.
"It definitely will not be an easy walk. Gonzaga is not a whipping boy. Well, Alexander is gaining physical form. I think that for four fights our cooperation will be fruitful, we will move further and develop together, "said Alexey Titov, executive director of RCC Boxing Promotion, during a press conference.
In the following matches, the rivals of the Russian sportsman may become Croatian fighter Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovich and Roy Nelson from Las Vegas.
"We have to choose from what we have. All strong heavy fighters are contracted in the UFC. Other athletes are often signed in Bellator exclusively. We are interested in the battle between Mirko Filipovich and Roy Nelson. Some of them can meet with Alexander, "said Titov.
The Russian fighter said that his body "has grown technically and functionally".
"I never plan to fight in advance. As usually I prepare for a duel with my coaching staff and I come to this event in the best shape. Childhood has passed, now my youth. Heavyweights by the age of 30 only get in shape. If the light weight by this time already wears out a bit, then we have a brave daring. I do not care who and where to hit, so I will act, and signed a contract for the next year ", - said Alexander Emelianenko.
Total May 5 in the KRK "Uralets" will be 10 fights. One of the main events will be the battle of Ivan Shtyrkov with the Brazilian Geronimo "Mondragon" Dos Santos.
"There is plenty of time for preparation, and the form is already good. Weight of Geronimo for 130 kg, I like these. I think that we with Alexander Emelianenko will make a good show and will develop our Russian MMA, "- spoke at a press conference Shtyrkov.
Proposals to participate in the tournament on May 5 were also made by Mikhail Rogozin and Oleg Oleinichev. If they agree, they will fight in the KRK "Uralets".
