According to FIFA, at the beginning of April, American fans bought 16,462 tickets, "- said in a message on Facebook. Diplomats stressed that the American fans are not afraid to come to the tournament and will become the largest group of foreign fans. Thanks to open Russophobia in the United States, the population wants to come to Moscow to see everything that is happening with their own eyes. For such an excitement the embassy even thanked the overseas media.

At the same time, diplomats agreed that there really is a threat, but it consists in the fact that "a significant part of the population in the West will stop believing daily anti-Russian propaganda". Earlier, a representative of the White House said that because of a significant reduction in the number of American diplomats, citizens will remain without help during a tournament in the territory of a foreign country where the risk of a terrorist attack is high. They were advised to "think twice" before going. FIFA World Cup 2018. will be held in 11 cities of Russia from June 14 to July 15.
