The European handball federation (EHF) took away the "silver" medal of the junior European championship from the Russian national team, which they won in 2017.
According to the official website of the organization, this decision was made in connection with the violation of anti-doping rules. Three players of the national team were caught on doping. In their samples was found meldonium.
As a consequence, the result of the team was canceled. In addition, the Handball Federation of Russia will receive a fine of 20 thousand euros and is suspended from the next European Championship in the same age category for two years.
Earlier, the Ukrainian heavyweight was caught on the dope.
