President of the Premier League Vladimir Geninson confirmed that he is not going to go for a second term.
Elections are scheduled for April 6.
"Yes, I do not go to the polls. I am very grateful to my team for the work and I am confident that they will remain under the new leader to fulfill their professional duties at a bad time for our football, "said Geninson.
However, with football, the incumbent league president will not say goodbye.
"I myself will stay working in Ukrainian football, and will also focus on working in UEFA, which is related to security and infrastructure of stadiums," added Geninson.
Earlier it was reported that the new head of the UPL could be a foreigner. It can be a Swiss lawyer, Thomas Grimm, or an Englishman, Joe Palmer, who in the past served as director of strategy for Shakhtar.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Recall, Geninson led the UPL in February 2016.
Then he was the only candidate for this position.
He planned to make a single Premier League TV-box and sell rights abroad. The participating clubs, according to his plan, were to transfer the broadcasting rights to the ULL.
"If the rights are not transferred, then I will not be a president, and most likely I will ask to be removed from office," Geninsohn said loudly.
Rights have not been transferred, but nobody has asked about the elimination.
