Ukraine's biathlon team will not participate in the 9th stage of the World Cup in Russia's Tyumen.

This was announced by the Minister of Sports of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov, who met with the president of the Biathlon Federation, Vladimir Brynzak.

"They discussed the situation that has developed around the last stage of the Biathlon World Cup.

The state has no right to interfere in the activities of sports federations, as separate public organizations. But all the rules have exceptions.

Because we are talking about an aggressor country, a country that systematically neglects international law, including in the field of sports, does not comply with anti-doping rules.

It was decided jointly - the Ukrainian team will not participate in the ninth stage of the World Cup in Tyumen, "Zhdanov said.. Earlier, the US team announced the boycott of this stage. Women's national team of Ukraine in biathlon announced that it plans to perform at this stage of the World Cup.

Recall, it was first reported that this phase was moved to Oslo, but the president of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Anders Besseberg later said that there was no change.

The World Cup in Tyumen is scheduled for March 22-25, 2018.
