The International Olympic Committee (IOC) listened to the arguments of the Russian side about the curler Alexander Krushilnitsky, whose doping tests found a record content of meldonium.

According to Dmitry Svishchev, President of the Russian Curling Federation (FKR), the Investigative Committee of Russia has already received recordings from CCTV cameras in a hotel where Russian athletes lived during the Olympics in Pyeongchang. However, it is possible that the drug Krushelnytsky received a little earlier - during the pre-Olympic fees that took place in Japan from January 23 to February 4: "The circle is narrowing: this is either Japan or Korea. IOC went to meet, providing videos from hotels. It's good that many IOC officials understand that the matter is not an easy one, "the official said in an interview with the NSO. He recalled that FKR immediately appealed to the TFR, because it is confident in the purity of its athlete: meldonia to him could be unnoticed to throw. "As soon as we learned about the problem, we immediately filed a letter to the Investigation Committee. Already the reverse reaction was received. In the near future, meetings and interrogations of us as federations are planned. We will also work with athletes and all who were with them at this time, "- said Svishchev. He recalled that at the training camp near Sapporo, next to the Russians, there were national teams of the United States and Japan. On Tuesday, February 27, in Moscow scheduled meeting of the executive committee FKR. The members of the Federation will not only have to discuss the situation with Krushelnytsky, but also decide who should be sent to the World Championships to be held in April in Sweden.

Alexander Krushelnytsky and his wife Anastasia Bryzgalova took third place in the double mix at the Games in Pyeongchang. However, the medal had to be returned, since the prohibited drug was found in the athlete's analyzes: in the doping test "A", 8069 ng / ml meldonia was contained, and in the sample "B" - 5721 ng / ml. Experts argue that such a number indicates a one-time admission of a very large amount of medicine. At the same time, the previous analyzes of the athlete did not cause any complaints.
