Ukrainian boxer won the title of world champion in WBA version

Ukrainian athlete Artem Dalakyan won the WBA title by winning a fight with American Brian Viloria.

According to Sport. ua, the battle for the vacant title of world champion in flyweight champion took place in the American Inglewood.

The publication notes that the duel with Viloria, the 30-year-old Ukrainian boxer held at a very good level. The judges unanimously decided to win by points Artyom Dalakyan with a score of 118-110. Dalakyan possessed the advantage, was faster than the 37-year-old American, more struck accented strokes and worked well in defense. In the penultimate round, the American got a serious cut after an elbow and the last round was bleeding, but stood up to the end of the fight.



Artem Dalakyan was the first WBA rating number and initially had to box against Japanese Kazuko Ioka, but he decided ahead of time to retire, leaving the title vacant. The duel against Viloria became for the 16th Dalakyan on the profiling. Before that he had won 15 bouts. At the same time 11 Ukrainian boxer finished the fights prematurely.

Dalakyan became the third Ukrainian who owns a belt of the world champion in professional boxing, joining Alexander Usik and Vasily Lomachenko.
