Most Russian Olympians refused to participate in the opening ceremony of the Games in Pyeongchang.

So, the parade will be missed by the men's ice hockey team, biathlon team, figure skating team, cross-country skiing team, short track team, luge team, curling team.

According to Russian media, athletes do not have much desire to go under the flag of the IOC. In addition, athletes are afraid that at the stadium they will be whistled by anti-doping activists.

"Any such ceremony means for its participants a minimum of three hours of waiting in the podtribunnom room, then the passage in a circle - and still do not know how many hours to get to the Olympic Village. And all this for the sake of a few minutes, when you get into the lenses of cameras, "- add athletes.

Let's note, the ceremony will be held on Friday, February 9 at 13:00 Kyiv time.

Recall, December 5, 2017 IOC disqualified the Russian national team from the 2018 Olympics because of the doping scandal with Sochi-2014.

In 2016, a doping scandal broke out after the reports of Richard McLaren, who led the WADA investigation.

They said that Russian athletes were involved in manipulating doping tests at the Sochi Olympics. To replacing the doping tests with "clean" were involved senior officials of Russia.

To participate in the Games of Pyeongchang can "clean" Russian athletes under the neutral Olympic flag.
