The decision of the IOC to remove Russians from the Games has been canceled

The Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) has found illegal the decision of the IOC for lifelong disqualification of Russian athletes. In total 39 sportsmen filed suit, 28 of them satisfied appeals, according to CAS website. Now they will be able to participate in the 2018 Olympics. The list of fully justified included Dmitry Trunenkov, Alex Negodailo, Olga Stulneva, Lyudmila Ustobikina (bobsleigh); Alexander Tretyakov, Sergei Chudinov, Elena Nikitina, Olga Potylitsyna, Maria Orlova (skeleton);

Alexander Legkov, Evgeny Belov, Maxim Vylegzhanin, Alexei Petukhov, Nikita Kryukov, Alexander Bessmertnykh, Evgenia Shapovalova, Natalya Matveeva (cross-country skiing); Olga Fatkulina, Alexey Rumyantsev, Ivan Skobrev, Artem Kuznetsov (speed skating); Tatyana Ivanova, Albert Demchenko (luge sport); Ekaterina Lebedeva, Ekaterina Smolentseva, Ekaterina Pashkevich, Tatiana Burina, Anna Shchukina (hockey). Thus, the number of athletes who will take part in Pyeongchang may change.
