The International Olympic Committee (IOC) banned the appearance of the Russian flag in the stands during the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 in South Korean Pyeongchang.

This is reported by the organizing committee of the competition.

This is explained by the fact that the flags of countries that do not take part in the Olympics are banned.

The Olympic Games in Pyeongchang will be held from 9th to 25th February.

______________________ Recall, on December 5, the IOC disqualified the Russian national team from the 2018 Olympics due to the doping scandal. Take part in it can "clean" athletes under the neutral Olympic flag.

In 2016, a doping scandal broke out after the reports of Richard McLaren, who led the WADA investigation.

They said that Russian athletes were involved in the manipulation of doping tests at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. To replacing the doping tests with "clean" were involved senior officials of Russia.
