The International Olympic Committee has compiled a list of Russian athletes who can be invited to participate in the 2018 Olympic Games.
This was reported by the press service of the IOC.
The preliminary list of 500 athletes from the Russian Federation was reduced by 111 people: now 389 participants from this country can admit to the Olympics. It is noted that more than 80% of athletes from this list did not participate in the Games in Sochi, which took place in 2014.
The remaining 111 or not checked again for doping tests from Sochi-2014, or the IOC has not yet received a doping test.
"All our decisions were taken by the group's consensus with respect to each individual athlete, each of which was considered anonymously," said the head of the IOC team, which selects the athletes of the Russian Federation, Valerie Furneron.
She added that a group of Russian athletes passed more tests for doping than athletes from other countries.
IOC dismissed the Russian national team from the Olympics-2018 due to the massive use of doping. In addition, in Russia it is forbidden to use any symbolism of the country on the Olympic Games and sing the anthem. All those athletes who will go to these competitions from Russia will act under the neutral flag.
