The eight-time Olympic champion in biathlon Ule Einar Bjoerndalen can still go to the Olympics in Pyeongchang despite the fact that he did not qualify for the team.

The International Olympic Committee can allow an increase in the quota in the Norwegian men's team in biathlon to seven.

This was reported by the coach of the Norwegian team Sigfrid Maze, NRK reports..

Rules of the International Biathlon Union give the right to individual admission to the Olympics in the discipline in which the athlete is the current champion.

Let us note that Pyeongchang-2018 could become the seventh Olympiad for Bjoerndalen. In the current season, the athlete performed in eight personal World Cup races, but never got into the top 10.
