The eight-time Olympic champion in biathlon Ule Einar Bjoerndalen was not a member of the Norwegian national team for the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

The Norwegian National Olympic Committee first wanted to include a legendary athlete in the team, but later changed the decision.

Pyeongchang-2018 could become the seventh Olympiad for Bjoerndalen.

In the current season, the athlete performed in eight personal World Cup races and never got into the top 10.

On account of the Norwegian eight gold, four silver and one bronze medal for the whole Olympic career.
