The meeting of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) voted for the participation of Russian athletes in the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea in a neutral status.
The meeting was attended by President of the ROC Alexander Zhukov, heads of sports federations, members of the Executive Committee of the Olympic Committee and athletes.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised that the Russian government would not impede the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympics in Pyeongchang.
Also the chairman of the commission of athletes of the Russian Olympic Committee Sofya Velikaya stated that the majority of athletes have already agreed to go to the Games under the neutral flag.
Recall, on December 5, the IOC suspended the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee, and the Russian national team was suspended from the 2018 Olympics. "Pure" Russian athletes can perform in Pyeongchang only under the Olympic flag.
