Russian biathlete Yana Romanova, who was suspended for life and lost the silver medal of the Olympic Games in Sochi, said she was not going to return her medal.
The athlete believes that the International Olympic Committee had no reason to take such a decision.
"If we do not achieve a fair decision, I will rather throw the medal in the trash than return it to the IOC.
I will never return my medal to the IOC. They made such a decision without evidence. I have many times passed the procedure of doping control, conducted by WADA. They simply decided that in Sochi we violated the anti-doping rules, "- said Romanova.
Recall that Ukrainian biathlete Vita Semerenko almost four years after the end of the Winter Olympics in 2014 in Sochi will receive a silver medal because of the disqualification of another Russian woman Olga Vilukhina.
