Absence of sportsmen of our country will strongly affect the ratings of broadcasts. Companies will incur economic losses, which is unprofitable for them. In addition, the channels will be difficult to attract and retain various sponsors, especially from Russia. However, some believe that the "Match TV" will show the Olympics in any case. This is explained by the fact that the channel is sporty and it will not be difficult to attract the audience. Also, sources say that Russian authorities can make a political decision, according to which TV channels will be banned from showing the Games. The government official said anonymously that this issue has not yet been raised, but in reality there is no sense in spending big money without high ratings. One of the interlocutors clarifies that the cost of rights to the Games is high, so the channel earns only a little extra money.

The absence of the Olympics on the air will not hit their pocket. In return, they can always show other content that will be in demand by viewers.

The final decision on the participation of the Russian team in the Olympics will be announced by the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee on December 5-7.
