Russian boxer Vyacheslav Lapshin was killed during the war in Syria.

It turns out that the athlete died in March 2016, but his death was only now known. He fought on the side of the "Islamic state", which in Russia is a banned organization.

The boxer for his life managed to conduct 9 fights in which he won 5 victories, three times he was defeated and one more time his fight ended in a draw. Lapshin performed in the second featherweight title.

In 2006, the boxer became the winner of the Small Olympic Games and the champion of Russia. An interesting fact is that 15 years ago he converted to Islam.
