This decision was made because of anti-doping rule violations. As reported on the organization's website, Albegov performs in the weight category over 105 kilograms.

He won the bronze medal at the Games-2012, won the World Championships 2013 and 2014. The 29-year-old sportsman is also a two-time European champion and the Universiade-2013 champion in Kazan.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, last year the IWF dismissed the entire Russian team from participating in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The statement of the international federation said that repeated violations of anti-doping rules committed by Russian athletes caused serious damage to the reputation of weightlifting and the IWF found it necessary to remove Russians from participating in the Games.
