Premier League held a working meeting on the reorganization of the competition system in professional and amateur football in Ukraine.

The participants positively accepted the proposal to reorganize the competition system, for the implementation of which it takes two years.

However, the number of participants will not increase artificially. In the season-2018/19 in the UPL will be 12 clubs.

"And the main goal is to return to the format with 16 teams in the season 2019/2020, provided that the clubs that will be eligible for promotion in the class will meet the minimum criteria for attestation for clubs," says the website of the Premier League.

- there are 12 clubs in the ULP with the prospect of increasing the number of participants to 16;.

- the first league will be represented by 18 clubs;.

- clubs of the second and amateur leagues will compete in the NFL (national football league) - 3 groups of 16 participants.

Recall that with the season-2017/18 introduced a new format of UPL with transitional matches.

For the big leagues, the 10th and 11th teams of the ULP will play with the 2nd and 3rd teams of the First League respectively.
