The official website of WTA on the basis of the US Open published an updated rating in which Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina took third place.

This achievement is a national record. Earlier, not a single representative of Ukraine, either in the female or in the men's category, managed to rise to such a high position in the ratings.

Headed the same rating, despite the crash in the fourth round of the tournament, Garbinje Mugurus. Simone Halep, who left the tournament altogether in the opening round, retained the second line.

Recall, in New York, Svitolina for the first time in her career performed in the 1/8 finals, where she was defeated by an American Madison Keaz.

Note that this year Elina is the leader in the number of WTA titles. Ukrainka won three Premier 5 tournaments (Dubai, Rome and Toronto) and two WTA International (Taipei, Istanbul).

The next Ukrainian tournament is the WTA Premier Mandatory series in Beijing, which will start at the end of September.
