Bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio Bogdan Bondarenko got a "bronze" at the decisive stage of the most prestigious track and field tournament - "Diamond League" in Zurich.

With the result of 2.31 meters the Ukrainian became the third. The same figure in Majid Eddin Ghazal of Syria, but behind attempts he is a step higher. The leader of the season was Mitaz Essa Barshim (2.36 m).

Another Ukrainian Andrey Protsenko stopped at an altitude of 2.24 meters and took sixth place.

Note that the final of the "Diamond League" was only the fifth tournament Bondarenko in the current season.

Knee injuries in March and stops in July crossed out most plans and intentions of the athlete. At the World Championships in London two weeks earlier, the titled Ukrainian jumper took only 9th place.

Recall, since this year in the tournament regulations there have been significant changes - now the decisive is not the total number of points for all the stages, but only the performance in the final. The remaining stages of the season are qualified for the final.
