Parents of football players of the children's school "Dynamo" appealed to the president, prime minister, the chairman of the SBU and the Minister of Internal Affairs with a request not to allow the holding of the Ukrainian youth championship in Mariupol. In an open letter to the leadership of the country they ask to transfer the game to safer fields, located further away from the zone of military operations, the TSN. 19:30.

Earlier, parents applied with such a request to the leadership of the Football Federation of Ukraine, but there they stated that they did not see any reason not to go to Mariupol.

The SBU confirms that a red threat level has been established in Mariupol, which provides for enhanced security measures. The Interior Ministry is also not advised to play in the front-line city.

However, the youth football championship is still planned to open in Mariupol on August 19.

"We know that state law enforcement agencies do not recommend holding matches in dangerous places, among which today is Mariupol. We believe that any safety issues for children, coaches and teams can not be debatable. Football officials must transfer the matches to safer fields, they must take care that the competitions are held in conditions of maximum security for football players, coaches and fans, "the statement says..
