A study conducted with the participation of people over the age of 65 showed that such people can stop and even reverse the aging processes of muscle tissue by attending the gym twice a week.
When analyzing the composition of muscle tissue, it was found that the system of muscle tissue controlling the energy supply becomes active, as in the twenty-year-olds.
The study was based on a comparison of muscle activity in the elderly and young people. A group of 25 healthy people over the age of 65 years spent a clock standard training in the gym twice a week. The training included standard exercises, using professional simulators, during which it was supposed about 30 muscle contractions of each group. The general course lasted about six months.
After six months of training, all patients were taken samples of muscle tissue and analyzed the approximate age and activity of the muscle.
Prior to the classes, older people were weaker than their young "colleagues" in the gym by 59%. After a series of training sessions, the older generation lagged behind by only 38%.
