July 31, a group of climbers climbed to the highest point of the Pamirs - Peak Abu ali ibn Sino. The height of the mountain is 7134 m. The summit is located on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. During the ascent, climbers had to spend 2 nights at an altitude of 6100 meters. This was reported in the Kharkov Alpclub.

Three Ukrainian sportsmen took part in the ascent. Leading the ascent of Kharkov Gennady Kopeika (President of the Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing of the Kharkov region). Together with the Kharkov sportsman two other famous Ukrainian mountaineers took part in the ascent: Alexey Makarov and Anatoly Mikhaylenko.

According to him, the climb was not given to athletes simply: on June 18, an avalanche slid down the slopes of the mountain, on June 23, a mountaineer-veteran died, and on the way they met a frozen girl. In addition, a mountain disease overtook one of the team members Gennady.

As is known, for Kharkiv is not the first ascent of the peak of Abu Ali Ibn Sin. Exactly 35 years ago, he already conquered this peak, it was the first seven thousandth of a penny.

"The culmination of the ascent was overnight at 6300 m. At night, because of the strong wind, one of the two tents was torn and the whole group squeezed into the surviving.

In the morning the snowstorm continued to rage, but we resolutely went to the ascent and reached the summit, despite the bad weather! ", - remembers Kopeika.
