Training helps you to get cold less often

According to a new study, people who lead a sedentary lifestyle, catch cold almost twice as often as those who engage in sports. Also, in sedentary people, ARVI is three times heavier.

Scientists monitored 1002 adults aged 18 to 85 years, registering their prevalence of respiratory system diseases, weight, as well as data on diet, lifestyle, and aerobic exercise.

People who think they are in good physical condition and who train five or more days a week have an average cold of 4.4-4.9 days per year.

Those who trained from 1 to 5 times a week were ill on average 4.9-5.5 days.



Those who trained once a week or less had an acute respiratory viral infection ranging from 8.2 to 8.6 days.

The physical form also influenced the severity of cold symptoms: in the trained people, ARVI proceeded 31-41% more easily than in untrained.

It is known that the average adult American is ill with a cold 2-4 times a year. Children on average get sick 6-10 times a year.
