A group of scientists led by Dr. Kristine Yaffe studied the effect of physical doses on women. The study lasted 8 years, and 6 thousand. Women. The participants were thoroughly asked about all the physical activities during the day. About that: how often they wash, clean, how many flights of stairs pass for a week, how many quarters are on foot. As a result, several groups and subgroups were identified depending on the intensity of physical activity.



The mental capabilities of the selected women were "measured" with a test officially approved in the United States to determine a person's cognitive abilities. Testing was carried out at the beginning and at the end of the study, that is, after eight years.

It was found that in the groups with increased physical activity, the test results were better by 40%. This proportional relationship was observed in all groups, even a small increase in physical activity led to better test results, experts say.
